Queensland Ballet and QPAC acknowledges that people with sensory and social disabilities may require support in attending a performing arts product. Sensory-friendly performances are designed to create a performing arts experience that is welcoming to all families with children with autism or with other disabilities that create sensory sensitivities.

These performances involve adapting the house rules for a particular performance, adapting the audience environment, creating alternative ticketing and seating arrangements, as well as pre-theatre preparatory activities for the person with a sensory, social, or learning disability so the person begins to understand and anticipate what might happen at a performing arts experience.

Facilities are provided should you experience moments of discomfort or distress that allow you to continue to enjoy the performance. These activities are aimed at priming families to prepare for the experience and optimising the experience for the child and their families.
