Community Engagement —
Bespoke 2018
In 2018 Queensland Ballet are continuing its commitment to arts and health and the way ballet can contribute to wellbeing in our community.
Contemporary Masterclass
We are inviting aspiring contemporary dancers, ages 13-17 from across Queensland to join us for a masterclass led by Queensland Ballet Creative Associate, Amy Hollingsworth on the Powerhouse stage.
The class will involve a contemporary class warm-up followed by learning how choreography is created through the creative process of tasking.
Creative Conversations
University students in the creative industries are invited to a conversation and Q&A to gain insight about the technical and creative aspects of capturing dance on film.
Lucas Thyer, Creative Producer of PixelFrame and Queensland Ballet Creative Associate Amy Hollingsworth will talk about collaborating with choreographer Cass Mortimer Eipper on creating the dance film 'Brute' for Bespoke.
Following this, see it all come together during an exclusive behind-the-scenes look of a technical rehearsal of the Bespoke performance.
‘Creativity & Collaboration’ Forum
We’re bringing together youth educators and community arts workers in Brisbane to connect and share experiences. Hear from Queensland Ballet’s Creative Associate Amy Hollingsworth and a Jette Parker Young Artist on the importance of creativity and collaboration, then see this come to life in the Bespoke triple bill that involves works by Gabrielle Nankivell, Craig Davidson and Queensland Ballet's own Jack Lister.
Accessibility
Queensland Ballet acknowledges people in our community with disability and endeavours to provide accessibility during our performances. For Bespoke 2018, the ‘Creativity and Collaboration’ Forum and post-performance Q&A will be professionally signed by an Auslan Interpreter.
If you have any further inquiries about these events or accessibility during the Bespoke season, please email community@queenslandballet.com.au or call 3013 6666.
