2017

2017 is the year to fall in love with Queensland Ballet

Ballet gives power to a story, and this power is far-reaching and uniquely expressive. As a Company we want to push the boundaries of ballet and see where it takes us. That is why our Season 2017 will offer a mix of beloved classics and new works that will challenge both audiences and artists alike.

Raw, a presentation of three very different ballets is a captivating start to our Season.

Ballet lovers will swoon over Swan Lake, enriched by the magic of Ben Stevenson’s choreography. This is traditional ballet at its most heartbreaking and glorious.

The comedic La Fille mal gardée will lift your spirits with its fresh take on impossible love, unrequited love, misguided love.

The fun continues with Peter Pan, flying back due to popular demand and more magic is waiting with The Nutcracker, a festive favourite that brings families together as only the best stories can.

2017 will see us launch Bespoke, an exciting contemporary season of collaboration between art-forms at the Brisbane Powerhouse. Our popular Dance Dialogues studio series returns to showcase new works from emerging choreographers.

In 2017 a new romance will begin. Whether you are new to ballet, or spellbound since childhood, this Season is a journey that will challenge, seduce and inspire your emotions.
