Strictly Gershwin is a spectacular tribute to George Gershwin and the big band era of the thirties.
The songs of George and Ira Gershwin are synonymous with an unforgettable time in America’s history. Strictly Gershwin evokes the silver screen magic of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, and the glamour of a golden age. With music adapted by Gareth Valentine and sensational choreography by Derek Deane, this is a fabulous ballet spectacular not to be missed.
Featuring Gershwin’s greatest hits including An American in Paris, Rhapsody in Blue, Summertime, Strike up the Band, Someone to Watch over Me, 'S Wonderful, Shall We Dance, I Got Rhythm and many more!
This is Queensland Ballet like you’ve never seen us, as we welcome special guests and a live jazz orchestra to the Lyric Theatre stage.
After selected performances at QPAC, a panel of creative artists and dancers discusses aspects of the ballet you’ve just seen.
Informative, keepsake programs are distributed free-of-charge at all performances.
