Kindy Moves —

In Term 3 2018, Queensland Ballet (QB) partnered with Lady Gowrie Caboolture East Community Kindergarten and Queensland University of Technology to deliver the Kindy Moves program, supported by Arts Queensland’s Artists in Residence program.

Based on QB’s Tiny Dancers courses, Kindy Moves was a magical introduction to the wonderful world of ballet underpinned by artistic excellence and informed by experts in dance and early childhood education. Through a whimsical yet structured play-based learning environment children skipped, galloped, turned and jumped while enhancing their skills in numeracy and literacy, refining their gross and fine motor skills and developing their musicality and creative expression.

QUT’s Associate Professor Sandra Gattenhof has worked closely on the project to evaluate how the needs of the community have been met and how the project addresses the outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework. Read the Evaluation of Queensland Ballet’s Kindy Moves Project.
